The youth rally Pant-y-Goytre

There were 28 vans on site and they were all Gwent. It was the return of the youth committee's favourite venue for the third year running.

This year we decided on archery for Saturday afternoon and lots of people took part both children and adults.

Saturday night we dressed in our Robin Hood gear for flag which was a joint effort between the youth committee and Paul and Marcia Moseley. Dean arranged us into teams for a few games after flag and most people stayed to watch people make a fool of each other and have a chat.

Thanks to those who helped with the gazebos and brought food for the American supper.

Youth Charity Support for 2008

The Youth have nominated SARA to receive their support this year

SARA - stands for Severn Area Rescue Association

Some background:- SARA provides in shore rescue boat and land search services for the Severn Estuary and upper reaches of the River Severn. One of the three operating stations is Beachley, nr Chepstow. The members of SARA are volunteers and SARA is a registered charity, all funding being raised by donations. SARA operates a range of callouts involving boats or persons in difficulty, searching for missing persons, animal rescue and flood relief.

 

GWENT YOUTH SECTION FELLOWSHIP SCHEME

It has been decided by the Youth Committee to launch a fellowship scheme in line with the adult fellowship scheme.

Any Gwent children attending rallies can obtain a form from the youth liaison or youth secretary and should get this signed by the rally officers at every Gwent rally they attend.

If 20 rallies are attended within the year then each child will qualify for their own fellowship plaque plus the completed forms will be put in a draw for a gift voucher to be presented at the next AGM.

So kids nag your parents to attend as many rallies as possible and qualify for your own bit of plastic plus the chance to win a prize.
