13th September ?

With the excitement and work involved preparing for the Welsh National it is easy to forget that just 18 days after it is all over Nominations close for the 2008-2009 committee to run our Centre for the following year.

Yes, on the 13th September all nominations for Officers and Committee must be in the hands of the current Secretary. While I am not party to any special information I do know that, historically, there is a tenancy to "wear out" committee during National Year and some decide to have a rest and not allow their names to go forward the following year.

You may not want to come forward yourself but may know of someone who may be interested and you consider would do a good job - why not approach them and ask if you can nominate them. Most people respond to an approach from outside but are reluctant to ask to be nominated, especially for the first time.

Remember without a Committee you will not have a Centre.

All Officer and Committee positions become vacant and nominations for any of these positions must be in the hands of the Secretary 14 days before the meeting. It is never too early to hand your nomination in and the current Committee are happy to know that things will progress for next year.

My nomination will go in within the next few days (as long as I can find someone to nominate me !)

There will be a Rally at the nearby Raglan.F.C. Site (26th-28th September)- Rally Opens at 12 Noon.

Social at the nearby Beaufort Arms Hotel in the evening

Arleen Kerwood has taken over the job as Newsletter Editor - although not on the Committee she has done this job for a number of years in the distant past and we thank her for helping us out this year to give the Committee more time to get to grips with the National.
